Mia’s Mexican Grill opened on March 28, 2012. Owners and founders Frank and Jennifer Salas named their new restaurant after their oldest child, their daughter Mia. Frank Salas started this new venture with 9 years of experience as a restaurant owner, having previously owned three popular Mexican restaurant franchises here in San Antonio. The Salas Family wanted to open a casual, family friendly restaurant serving the freshest Mexican food possible. A comfortable place to meet family and friends for a great meal. They wanted to bring a little of the Southtown vibe to the Northwest side through the decor in the restaurant. So they contracted two artists, sisters Laura and Karina Gomez, from Chicago, to create some fun paintings of the Salas children.
When creating the menu the Salas’ knew they wanted to include all of their favorite things, from the food to the frosty, ice cold schooners the beer and margaritas are served in. Mia’s menu includes all of the family’s favorite dishes. Family recipes that, if you grew up in San Antonio, take you back to your Abuela’s kitchen table. Family favorites include Queso Flameado, Enchiladas Con Carne, Tortilla Soup, Al Pastor Tacos, Shrimp Tacos, Certified Angus Beef Fajitas and Frank’s Country a la Mexicana breakfast. Daily specials include Fideo, Chile Rellenos, Chicken Mole Enchiladas and Chicharrones. Mia’s also has many healthy options to choose from including salads, fresh soups, and grilled shrimp and fish tacos.
Even though Mia’s has a Drive-Thru we are not a “Fast Food” restaurant. Each plate is cooked to order. Mia’s prides itself on serving the freshest food possible made from the highest quality ingredients. We crack all of the eggs fresh, chop our produce fresh in house and prepare all of our food fresh daily. You can definitely taste the difference!
